Crochet 101

Sundays: July 16 and 23, 2017

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at INUA Wool Shoppe

Cost: $40 plus materials

Instructor:  Anne M. Castle

Limited to 6 - 10 students

This class is for beginners with little or no crochet experience.  Come learn about the different types of yarn, hooks and the anatomy of a stitch.  You will learn how to chain, single crochet, double crochet, increase, join rows, and to read a simple pattern.  And at the end of Crochet 101 you will take home a scarf!

For Class 1 bring:

·      A light-colored worsted weight yarn

·      Crochet hooks H and I (or size recommend by yarn label)

·      Glasses, if needed

·      A pen and notebook, optional

·      Any crochet tools and supplies you have questions about

·      Questions

For Class 2, you will choose and purchase yarn and the appropriate hook, if necessary.  Bring:

·      Hook(s)

·      Safety pin

·      Glasses, if needed

·      A pen and notebook, optional

·      Any miscellaneous gadgets

·      Questions

 

You need not have any crochet knowledge!  Just bring a willingness to learn.  Ability to read English and to perform fine motor skills with your hands is helpful.

To register for a class, stop by INUA or call (907) 479-5830.  ALL CLASSES MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION.  CLASS FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  Instructor will be available before class to help with purchase of yarn and other materials for the class.  INUA staff is always happy to help.
