Intermediate Knitting Technique
Two-at-a-Time on Magic Loop
Saturday November 5, 2016 from 3pm – 6pm
Class Cost $25
So, you’ve knit a sock or two, maybe even a pair of mittens, or a sleeve for a sweater. And the entire time, you thought… “what if I could work both socks/sleeves/mittens at the same time? Wouldn’t that be so much faster?”
Well, it probably isn’t any faster (after all, you are still knitting the same amount), but sometimes it’s easier. There may be less measuring to do, less mistakes being made because the second one doesn’t exactly match the first, etc. It’s a good technique to have in your knitting bag, and this class will teach you how to cast on two at a time and get knitting.
What do I need for this class?
If you already have a particular pattern in mind, bring in the yarn/needles you are going to need for that project.
If you don’t have a pattern in mind, or just want to practice the technique, then bring in some scrap yarn like a nice worsted weight wool (lighter colors are always better than darker ones) and size 6-8 needles.
You will need at least a 32” cable on your needle… you can always go longer, you can’t really go shorter J
What will be covered in this class?
Casting on for two at a time (cuff down) and getting started knitting
Yarn management (since you now have 2 strands of yarn to get tangled together)
This is not a class that you will get a finished object out of, it is simply to learn a specific technique. If you have a pattern in mind and want to start it in class, I am happy to get you going on that.
To register for a class stop by the shop or call (907) 479-5830. ALL CLASSES MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. CLASS FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Teachers will be available before class to help with purchase of yarn and other materials for the class and INUA staff are always happy to help.
